Album Review: Excuse my French

French Montana has been in the game for a minute and has been known for his likable personality and his great ear for beats with such tracks as "Shot Caller" and his ass shaking anthem with all star features that we have come to know as "Pop That". French Montana has been working with numerous successful artist without dropping an album, and with Excuse My French he finally gets to show people what is the hype surrounding this 2012 XXL Freshman. When you first pop in this album the features begin...Max B comes in for the intro track and speaks on everything being "wavy" and preparing for his trail (which we know he isn't going to see day light anytime soon) after that comes in a slue of tracks that have heavy hitting beats that are ridden poorly by French. But wait...maybe his features can save a few tracks and there will be catchy hooks in store. Honestly most of the features seemed to be dumb down and as elementary as the subject matter and lyrics as French himself, what makes things worse is that most of the artist are not even on topic and outshine the main artist. Rick Ross on "Trap House" seemed to write his verse in hurry as most of his lines ended in "motherf***er". To make matters worse in reference to features rap moguls Diddy and Birdman are also on the album...you will easily wish they weren't after hearing their verses. One of the worst collaborations on God's green Earth has also happened on this album, The Weeknd and French have teamed up on "Gifted" where French makes reference to getting married as hard has peeing in the freezer to make canary diamonds (trash). This deserved the lacking sales of only 56,000 which honestly should have been lower in comparison to the lack of effort placed into this album. The greatest thing to take away from this album is "Pop That" and (insert beat from whatever other decent song you hear), whatever you do...listen to this before pulling out money and purchasing it.
